When people start to get used to the idea of adopting change, they need to be supported in their exploration and readiness for change. Here are 3 simple yet effective tactics when they are properly implemented.
20.Define the impacts and expected behaviors. Take the time to really understand the specific impacts of the change on your team members and define mitigation measures accordingly. The hardest part in dealing with change is not knowing what to expect.
21.Make it a practical experience. For most people, as long as they have not touched, seen or experienced any change, it remains theoretical. Whenever possible, give them insights into future changes.
22.Provide support. Identify and free up resources that will be on-site and available to answer questions and concerns of those affected. The more people will feel they can count on resources to assist them in learning the new reality, the easier their transition will be.
To what extent do you take measures to help people gradually familiarize themselves with a new reality and to alleviate the uneasiness that invariably comes with any change?
